I have always enjoyed my meals at Biaggi's. It's a great atmosphere, great quality food, with helpful service. I thought the Des Moines location only hired cute guys, but it seems as if this location does the same as well! Hmm. . . If I'm ever in the area again, will definitely make sure to stop by.

The food here is decent, but it's not really anything special compared to the other Italian restaurants in the area. Sometimes they have really great specials, but you really have to go to dinner at the "right" time to catch one. The wine selection is a little lacking considering they have wine bottles everywhere!

Wow! I don't live in Cedar Rapids, but was passing through and found out this place had an extensive gluten free menu and just had to try it. My expectations were exceeded. The gluten free bread and entrees we got were incredible. The service was 5 stars and our waitress Kayla could not have been nicer! I will definitely come back to Biaggi's if ever passing through Cedar Rapids again or any of their other locations! Bravo Biaggi's!

For what it is, a chain Italian restaurant, it's one of the best in the area. I've been here a few times and never been disappointed. Last night I had the butternut squash ravioli, it was uber yummy. The sauce was very good, a brown butter and sage sauce, the ravioli was topped with diced squash and walnuts. Mmmmm. There was some slight sweet flavor to the ravioli that reminded me of almonds, it was very good. For dessert we shared the tiramisu, which was very good. The service was very good. I was running late, very late, and the waitress was very understanding since she (along with my aunt and uncle) had been waiting for me for 30 minutes. We weren't ready to order still and she kept coming back with no attitude what so ever. Now this probably should be something we all expect in a server, but sadly it's not the norm and so I was impressed. As I said, not a fan of chain restaurants, but Biaggi's is one of the best around.

Really great food...large portions and lots of great bread...can be a little pricey...oh and if you order the dirty martini be warned...they put 3 olives in it...one olive is stuffed with Parmesan cheese...awesome...one is stuffed with pepperoni....awesome...the third olive is stuffed with an anchovy...a stinky lifeless dead fish smelling anchovy...I didn't eat it due to the scathing aroma...it reminded me of prom night...I even had to have them put my $10 martini into a new glass due to the resilient stench that thing left behind on the original glass...the blonde older gal behind the bar is nice but kind of gives you that used car salesperson feel with her over the top politeness to the point it is not genuine...and if they could figure out how to change the channel to the game on the TV for those of us utilizing the bar area would be worth another star itself...

I recently reviewed the Davenport Biagg's and happened to have lunch in Cedar Rapids. Testing the consistency of chain venues is a job I like. I must say Biaggi's came through with flying colors. Again the service was impeccable. I again tried a special of grilled fish which was exceptional being in landlocked Iowa. I again walked away with a smile on my face and a thank you to Biaggi's for a great lunch and pleasant respite.

I was thinking about hosting a baby shower here, so over the summer I visited with my mom so we could check out the space. This was last minute, but the host did make time for us, show us the rooms available, and even told us about her sister's baby shower that was hosted there a few weeks before. She was really good, so nice, and answered all of our questions. Their wine room was so beautiful, and it seemed perfect for our needs. I would have booked it right hten based off the experience with the host. Next, off to the dining room. We split a few appetizers and each ordered a salad. I wouldn't be able to tell you about anything, since it was all fairly average and nothing stuck out. Except for the bruschetta: neither my mom nor I could figure it out, but there was something off about it. It was not good. The server disappeared so much, I had to stop other servers to get more drinks and even to get our check. Then, our server rushed over, went to another table to get drink orders, then immediately came back to pick it up. We hadn't opened it yet. When I did, I realized he gave us the wrong check (one for four people). He brought over the right one, then when he brought me the receipt to sign, it was WRONG AGAIN. You do not make that mistake twice with the same table. So annoying. Mediocre food and subpar service, I don't intend to return anytime soon. Needless to say, we decided against hosting the party here.

Went for dinner and had the lobster fettuccine....it was amazing. I don't have any interest on knowing how many calories my dinner had. It was rich and yummy.

I went here for dinner on my last night in Cedar Rapids. I was pleasantly surprised. This place reminds me of Maggiano's or Carraba's. I had the seafood pasta and it was delicious. My only gripe was that the shells of the mussels had broken into my pasta and I kept getting crunchy bites when I ate my pasta. Other than that, the meal was great. I took the lemon layer cake back to the hotel for my dessert and enjoyed it in my PJs :).

Way better then I thought it was going to be, I'm not a big fan of there bread that you get before your meal, you get to make your own dipping sauce if you will with olive oil Parmesan and black pepper. The service was very knowledgeable of the menu and the lobster corn chowder was very very good! As it was suggested by our server. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed there soups and salads I know I enjoys my chicken Parmesan although I thought they could have put more noodles on my plate.

Their food is always amazing for a night out with your spouse or to include the whole family! Highly recommend Biaggi's (and their wine selection is amazing!)

My husband and I love going here to celebrate. We love the foccacia bread they serve (herbs and onion), that goes great with the olive oil, cheese and pepper dipping sauce. My favorite dish is the Salmon and Shrimp Milanese. The servings are huge so I usually share with my husband. We also ordered a half a plate of pasta that they serve for about $9. And the serving might as well be a full plate. We had the Shrimp and Crab Canelloni. It was all so great! For dessert, we had the Warm Apple Crostata. It was great as well! The rum caramel sauce was perfect with the crostata. Luke was our server and he made the experience so much better. He was the one that made the visit 5 stars. He was helpful and cheerful and alert with whatever we needed. The ambiance of the place makes it a perfect place for a romantic date night.

I love this place! Great food. The service can be hit and miss sometimes we struggle trying to get a waiter . With the food being this good tho I don't mind it much.. The bread they offer with the oil and cheese mixture is great! They have the BEST stuffed mushrooms! The stuffed mushrooms alone is enough to keep someone coming back... The portions are great and I always come home with left overs. This is a place I will return to often.

I've been here a couple of times before, always had the Calamari Fritti and the Capellinni Di Mari. The calamari was crisp, the pasta was delicious with their spicy sauce. Today I had the same two dishes with a white wine. The service didn't change good as usual, but the Calamari was bland, soggy and the batter was falling off. Same goes with the pasta bland, the sauce was oily and not spicy at all. The scallops was cold on the inside barely luke warm, the whole thing was just tasteless. I hope Biaggi's will improve by my next visit. P.s. the wine was super.

Food was really good. Too bad it took 1.5 hours to receive it with the restaurant 25% full.

  • Angela C.

They have an amazing beet salad with fabu goat cheese!!! I also got their green salad (too much dressing for me - yeck) and the butternut squash ravioli. That was delicious, but it seemed like they added just a hair too much sugar for my liking.

I almost never step foot in Olive Garden. I don't like my food overly processed. Compared to OG, Biaggi's is not a step-up it's another world. Biaggi's is not the best restaurant in Cedar Rapids, but it's one that my wife and I turn to often for a dependable and decent meal. The food is usually very tasty and the wait staff very pleasant and professional. They keep things fresh by offering a number of new dinner specials each week. So if you've somehow become tired of their fairly expansive menu you know there will be something else in the offing you haven't tried.

Has it been almost 9years since it opened... wow. Maybe I have an emotional attachment to Biaggi's because this is where my rehearsal dinner was in the Wine Room, but I really like this place to this day. The Wine Room: Its not a huge party room, but has a good capacity for a moderate gathering thats pretty sound proofed against the main dining area so you can focus on your guests. Bar Area: Given a preference, I like the Bar Area over the main dining area because its so much more open. And the TVs don't hurt either. The three booths are very spacious and comfortable, but there are only three. Main Dining: If you can get a booth, do. Dining at one of the tables in the main area can feel really crowded with waiters and patrons alike brushing your chair as they pass. The booths give a small sound break but the tables have nothing to keep ambient sounds from drowning out conversation. Food: Primo. If you are there for lunch, go for the Half&Half. Its a perfect portion of food for a lunch priced extremely well. The dinner portions are quite generious and I find myself taking left overs home often. The pizza (I know pizza?) is very tasty if you like the thin crust sytle. And the pastas are also top notch. Bread Freebies: Another plus. The oil/pepper/cheese mix goes well with all the types of bread. Is it as good as it gets, almost. The over crowded dining area keeps it from a full 5 stars, but I would easily recommend this place to anyone.

A great alternative to Olive Garden. At least this chain has tasteful food and wine selections, and generally nicer staff and atmosphere. The bruschetta is my favorite dish, but their pizzas (authentic Italian thin flaky crust) are a close second. I disagree about the quality being similar to Olive Garden. True, it's a smidge pricier, but in this case I would argue that you get what you pay for.

THE best butternut squash ravioli I have every eaten!!!! Lucious brown butter sauce with a diced squash and walnut topping. The house salad was fresh, crisp and interesting which is a rarity. Prompt and attentive service and very reasonably priced. I'll be traveling to Cedar Rapids for business regularly...I'm likely to be a regular here.

Slightly better than Olive Garden. It was good but still had that "chain" taste. Excellent service

  • Jesse R.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere, decent wine list....well ok the wine list is 3.5 stars, but really, given the location, this place is a delight. I'd be happy with this quality on my home grounds of San Francisco, so CR folks should take advantage! Very nice!

When I think of Italian this is probably the best in town for Cedar Rapids. It is average but far away from good Italian.

This is a good place for business meals. The place is well appointed and presentable for your clients, the meals are good too. The food dishes were well proportioned and flavored. This is probably one of the most descent places that I've seen in this whole city!

A few of my friends and I were looking to carbo-load before our triathlon next and this great pasta place was right down the road. It was fairly busy as it was Saturday evening but we were able to call ahead and get our name on the list. We did have to wait about 5 minutes once we arrived but we were happy with that. I love the Biaggi's bread basket plus they have olive oil, Parmesan, and pepper to add to make the bread even more delicious. Plus our server was not shy about bringing us a new bread basket which is a big plus in my book. I wanted a fairly basic meal so I selected the spaghetti and meatballs with a side garden salad. The entree plus the salad (and all the bread) ended up being way too much food. The size of the side salad alone was big. And I ended up not being able to finish my entree. I thought the spaghetti and meatballs was really delish! Nothing too impressive but I got my carbs in !

This place is an absolute MUST! I'm not really big on Italian (stomach issues) but this place won me over! I was in IA on business and in dire need of a good meal! Found Biaggi's on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I was NOT disappointed . Ambiance, Decor and Service all on point! To start I had the Roasted Beet and Arugula salad; Amazing! Then the Capellini del mare arrived...thee absolute most succulent scallops ever! That dish won me over big time! Tender clams and mussels, huge shrimp and flavorful sauce! And the pasta cooked to perfection! No way I could eat it all, I had to save room for the Tirimisu. I NEVER over eat but everything was so good I couldn't help myself. Keep up the great work

Biaggi's was recommended to me and a couple colleagues because of their large gluten free menu. I know I'm a bit spoiled being from Portland, but for the most part I'd say most of the food was pretty mediocre. Our service was polite and friendly. I had the GF mushroom pizza, which was supposed to have truffle oil, but had no flavor. The bacon wrapped dates were pretty good, but they accidentally sent our order to another table, so it took a while to get it. The mixed green salad was mostly iceberg lettuce. Yes, yes I know I'm a lettuce snob. One colleague had the salmon and shrimp, the other had ravioli. Apparently, the seafood was "meh", but again being from Portland we are used to amazing salmon. The crime brûlée dessert was pretty good. In short, while not bad, it's not a place I'd recommend.

House salad was delicious and came with roasted red peppers. Gluten free flat bread was good. I had Shrimp and salmon risotto. Salmon was good but not great, overly seasoned. Shrimp were ok. Risotto tasted like plastic. Skipped it. Wine was good. Service was good except when I was served my entree while I was still eating my salad. Redeemed by creme brûlée.

So I do get it. The canned sauces at home with the cheap noodles has made the majority of adults think that this half-step up from the Olive Garden is good Italian. Because it is better than Chef Boyardee, right? Wrong answer. Yes, some of the food does taste better than what most of us make at home, but real Italian? Not even close. Ate there last night (this was our anniversary spot but the declining service and quality have made us change) with a group of friends. Service started slow, but we were waiting on one person, so it didn't matter. Once we were all in attendance, then it was not. Tim, our trendy haired young man, kept the water glasses filled but when it came to speed of service he missed the mark. I think he was hired to give a certain look to the service staff. I noticed most of the men were tall and dark haired. The atmosphere of this place is great. But the noise level is excessive and it is almost impossible to hear someone that isn't sitting right beside you. Also, the floors seemed very slick. Perhaps too much grease tracked in from the kitchen? The food was ok, but nothing special. However, the classic Caesar salad was so heavily dressed and the garlic was over powering to the point of burning your mouth. One of my companions is a culinary arts instructor and she was appalled. The two people who had ordered this ate only a small portion and then mentioned it to the server. He said he would tell the manager, but he didn't clear the offending plates. I took a bite of it, as did everyone at the table, and we all agreed it was uneatable. A manager never stopped by. When the bills came out, the two salads were still on there. The friend who is a culinary arts teacher called over the manager (he was talking to another server and walked by our table) and proceeded to be told that this was their recipe and nothing was wrong with it. But, other people sometimes mention it. Hmmm perhaps that might be a red flag? He went ahead and took it off the bills for them, but didn't tell them, the server came back with a refund. I think he was afraid of us by then. I don't think I'll be heading back to Biaggi's any time soon.

Holy cow! The food was so amazing I over indulged. I am gluten intolerant and rarely find a place where there are many options. Let alone a place that brings gf bread before the meal! It was warm and tasted fabulous! It made me so happy! Then what's more, there was gf pasta!!!! The cosmopolitans were delicious and strong just how I like them. Our service was fun and delightful! A new favorite!

Average visit. Restaurant was half full. Bread was delicious. Promised additional bread but was forgotten until after I had the salad. Small garden salad was a large! Excellent ingredients with greens, carrots, cucumbers. Balsamic vinegarette was good but salad was way overdressed. I could only eat half. Ordered half rigatoni with sausage. The sauce was watered down. The taste was still ok, but not as tasty with the odd sauce.

I've been here serval times and nearly everything has been very good. I especially like their unlimited soup and salad combos. The lobster fettuccine is very good. The shrimp pizza not so much unless you like tiny bay shrimp. The service, prices, decor and ambience are all very good. A great alternative to Olive Garden with similar chain restaurant consistencies.

I ordered take out from this Biaggi's last night on the way to my hotel room; and it was an experience! I called ahead and ordered my foo:, Seared Ahi Tuna Salad, Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, and a pop. The gentlemen on the phone was super nice and my order was going to be ready in 15 minutes. I got to Biaggi's probably 30 minutes later, (15 minutes late), and I walk in and asked the hostess where I pick up my take-out order. They pointed me towards the bar. I ask the bartender if I could pick up my order and she turns around and grabs a bag and places it in front of me. Why isn't the food on a heater or something to keep some of the components somewhat warm? When I finally ate my food, I could tell that it had been sitting out for some time. I ordered a pop to go and the lady that helped me said they have no lids. I was kind of surprised because how am I supposed to take a to-go order of pop without a lid? So I said fine and grabbed it and noticed that it had ice in it, (I ordered the pop with no ice so I could get more pop). She re-poured the drink in a new cup and gave that to me so I had two cups of pop now, with no lids. The food was okay. The highlight was the Jumbo Crab Cakes, so much flavor! The Seared Ahi Tuna Salad was bland, but the tuna itself had nice flavors. The blood orange vinaigrette they had with it was basically all vinegar. The bread they gave me with some vinegar and Parmesan cheese was good. And the pop was okay. All in all, my take out order was disjointed and it didn't go as it should have. I won't be coming back to this Biaggi's any time soon.

A Step Above Olive Garden but is it really? I found them to be on the same level but that is how most in the area described them when I arrived to C.R. They do not hold a candle to Carrabba's or my mothers Italian cooking but while I was away from home for business they will do. Food was good, prices-fine, and service was just right. You'll like them.....probably.

What's there not to love about Biaggi's? Sure it's a small chain but they have innovative menu items, servers that know what they're doing and a beautiful facility that feels like a special occasion. I like how when you're in a large group they bring out a team so that everyone is served at the same time. A small thing but a special touch that sets them apart from other good restaurants. Not a fufu "fine dining" experience but clearly quality food, generous portions and competitively priced.

  • Mary B.

Great ambience, good food, and friendly service. It gets quite busy here so service may be a bit slow at times, but if you get hungry there's more than enough focaccia and white bread to dip into their "butter (olive oil/cheese concoction). I tried their lasagna, Stromboli, and one of their ziti dishes. All were phenomenal, although I enjoyed my lasagna the best. The prices are a little more expensive depending on the dish, but this is a great restaurant for a nice dinner out. It definitely was a notch better than your typical Italian chain restaurant!

This place has the potential to be a minimum of 4 stars, maybe even 5 stars. But when we ate there this past Sunday night, I was a little disappointed. Even being Father's Day, there were not that many people in the restaurant. Service was good and the environment and ambiance was very nice. We ordered a carafe of Super Tuscan wine (red Italian blend) which was pretty good as "bulk wines" go, but my problem is that they gave us white wine glasses instead of wide mouthed red glasses. They don't have a sommelier, but the manager should be on top of things like this. We had the Caesar salad which also was very nice in size, with lots of shaved Parmesan cheese on it, but the garlic content was horrendous -- I love garlic, but the dressing was not Caesar dressing but crushed garlic dressing. I was tasting garlic two days later! My GF had the chicken farfelle and I had the boneless rib eye with roasted root vegetables. The farfelle was bland and my meat was dry and shriveled up -- like it was left over from the day before. A very nice place with a nice menu, but they should pay attention to improving their food and their delivery.

I visited Biaggi's with a co-worker while traveling for work, so naturally we sat at the bar. Given the tableclothes, candles, and dim lighting, I can see that this would be a great location for a date-night though. The first thing I noticed after taking a seat is that there are only 4 beers on tap. This is a huge drawback for me, but the beer I had was good. My co-worker got an Old-Fashioned, which was made with a little more fruit than is typical. When we stated that we would be eating dinner we were given menus. However, we were given a menu that was different than the regular seating. I'm not sure of all the differences, but it appeared to be just the specials and a condensed version of the menu. I ordered the special, which was a fish plate (Hawaiian fish but I can't recall what exactly) and was very tasty. There was a special dessert menu as well, but I didn't order. Overall, this is a pretty good restaurant, but I think it has a lot more potential than it is living up to.

Many years ago my parents and sister lived in Cedar Rapids and they would come to this restaurant. Finding ourselves in town for an in-laws party they decided we should eat here for dinner. Started with the calamari and bruschetta which were pretty good. Solidly average and what you would expect. The bread was a greasy foccacia. I ordered seafood pasta, this was not good. The seafood was clearly frozen and the pasta was overcooked. Dinner finished with an average creme brulee and tiramisu. I'm guessing its pretty difficult to do authentic italien food in Iowa but even taking that into consideration, I cannot see why this restaurant is so busy.

I used to come here as a kid for special occasions and remembered this place to be fantastic. I went here Saturday night with my boyfriend and was completely unimpressed. Took 15 minutes for our server to come over. Wine was cheap and overpriced. Food selection was pretty limited and they didn't mention it was an extra charge for a salad. She made it seem like it was included. We had to ask 3 people for straws. Our server never ran her own food. The sauce was sooooo salty. And when she finally did stop by and asked if we wanted boxes.. She took our food away to box it up in the back. We were still picking at it and enjoying ourselves but she literally pushed us out the door. Okay food. Poor service.

Wow, the gluten free menu here is incredible. I live in Los Angeles and ate here with my sister, both of us have gluten allergies. They serve gluten free bread to you before the meal, and there is a PLETHORA of gluten free items to choose from - pastas, pizzas, appetizers, it's amazing. I've never seen such a large gluten free menu, anywhere. I live in Los Angeles and immediately googled to see if there was one there or in South Carolina, and sadly not. :( But this place has very good food, the service was good (a dying art these days) and I did not feel even remotely ill after eating - not an easy feat. In fact, maybe a first. So thank you, Biaggi's, for your incredible understanding of gluten free food - I wish you were in more areas because I would be a lifelong fan. :)

Let me just say, I LOVE Biaggis! Huge fan. I've been here several times and the food has always been excellent, the atmosphere fun, and it has definitley provided a great place to go for a romantic evening/date. All of their drinks are great, but I especially love their mai thais! I am also a huge fan of the bread and oil they bring out as an appetizer, and I've never had a bad item from the menu. This is by far my favorite place to eat! If you're into soups, try the chicken florentine soup. Yum!!

Fabulous place for gluten-free families who love delicious food! Haley did an excellent job making sure we understood our options and that all of us were happy. All of our food was on the official gluten-free menu except the raspberry sorbet she brought our kids (after quietly asking first - awesomeness!). I loved the roasted beet salad. My husband got the Pasta Alfredo and was quite pleased. 10yr old got the meatball pizza (very good) and couldn't finish it - we were all glad to have leftovers. 5yr old got mac n' cheese and requested more gluten-free bread (more like flatbread) w/ olive oil for dessert. We'll be back!

Had good food and ok service. It is a nice decently fancy restaurant that is fun to go to. The only reason I didn't give this place 4 stars is because it didn't have any wow factors!

Never again, that's when I'm coming back. Yeah, Biaggi's you can thank your ever so incompetent and judgmental wait-staff. Recently my friends and I stopped in for a nice lunch on a warm spring day. We had all eaten here before for their lunch, and have enjoyed coming here in the past. Well, that was RUINED by your staff. When stopping in for lunch we typically get the half sandwich and soup special, and that is what we all ordered this time, each and every single one of us. When ordering mine, I clearly enunciated and even pointed to it on the menu 'HALF SANDWICH AND SOUP SPECIAL' (Which is a half sandwich and unlimited soup(s)) The waiter acknowledged my order. Had I known what would follow, I think I might have drawn him a picture to illustrate what I wanted. His grasp of the English language seemed quite good so far. He looked to be in his mid twenties, judging from the pre-ordering banter English is was clearly his first language. Out comes the food. My sandwich comes out, I ordered the chicken and chèvre, 'Heres your turkey sandwich' I'm told, Um... I'm sorry, I ordered the half chicken special... I I tell the girl who is helping with the food. 'No, that's right' I'm told, 'Right you mean it's chicken, or right you mean it's turkey?' Then she goes to put her fingers INTO my food, stopping just short, realizing I think what she was about to do. 'Oh, it's chicken' she says. O_o? 'So this is my chicken special?', 'Yes, this is what you ordered', 'Are you sure?', 'yes'. It was to be a half sandwich, this seemed kinda big for a half, but I asked, and they assured me that this was what I ordered. And the soup comes out, a full bowl of soup, not the normal cup size that comes with this special... O_o? This is the kind of place where at night, you wear something a little nicer. It's not a jacket and tie sort of establishment, but you know, a little upscale. However, during lunch, you'll see people in all kinds of apparel. I guess that is something they want to change. I guess that customers are something that they don't need in a down economy. I guess that they only cater to a class cut from better stuff. At our table three of us are in t-shirts, and one in a nicer blouse. We're seated in the middle of the dining room, save for us, there are two other tables, one each on the opposite ends of the room. When serving the other tables, the waiter has to walk RIGHT BY OUR TABLE. So let's get this clear... HE SEES US. He sees the empty drink glasses, that we have to flag him down, multiple times to get re-filled, he gets flagged down to re-fill the breadbasket, that he says that he will, then ever does, till he is reminded again, oh, and our drinks... empty again, no refill... Most places, will grab your glass and fill it before you get even halfway down. When we ask for more soup, more of the same, slow service, orders that never get put in, have to be reminded to be filled. What'cha tellin us Bubba? Don't like serving us? Don't like our teeee-shirts? We a lowah class? Hey, upper-crust, my soup is empty! I know you see me! When I try to make eye contact, looks the other way. Fine smuggo. Whatevs, I guess this is the new message of Biaggi'$. And now, drumroll please. The bill, it comes, and suuuuprise suuuuprise, IT IS WRONG. What should have been a $40.00 bill for the table was pushing $90.00. Instead of the half sandwich and soup specials, we had all been charged for full sandwhiches, a full bowl of soup, and all of the additional cups of soups. Well, since Smuggo-the illiterate-or-otherwise-incompetent-or-potentially-crooked waiter didn't want anything to do with us, I didn't want anything to do with him. We went straight to the manager. We explained what we had ordered, and how we had been treated. Her response a gibbering 'wha, huh, uh, I just got here, uhhhh... I gotta go check on this'. I have been treated pretty shoddy before, but never has the service been so bad, then the waiter has the gaul to try to jack up the price... and then I wonder, would possibly pocket the difference, then adjust the tickets back? Awful. The manager comes back, and says she's fixed the tickets. They are as they should have been to begin with. It should have been the whole meal was comped for how awful ther service was. The food was great, really very good. Love the sandwiches, and amazing lobster bisque soup. TOO BAD I'LL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN.

I came here on business. I sat at the bar and got decent service. Friendly staff. The bacon wrapped dates were very good. I got a half order of pasta and really seemed like I could have got the same quality as Applebee's. I hope there are more places to choose from the next time I'm in town.

Traveling on business in Cedar Rapids, I was looking for a place to get a good meal. Some associates recommended Biaggi's. Being a chain, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. My Caesars salad was good but nothing special. Romaine lettuce and nice big pieces of Parmesan. I ordered one of the specials of the day. Shrimp Fra Diavolo was very good. Lots of flavor and lots of shrimp. I like it a little spicier so I asked for some extra red pepper. Finishing it off, I ordered the Cannolis. Delivered were a pair of cannolis each with an end covered in chocolate chips and the other end with pistachio nuts. Awesome, but far too much for 1 person. Being by myself at the restaurant, I found the service to be good although I was put at a table that was a little tucked away. (Cold by the windows in the winter!) I left Biaggi's feeling full and felt that I got my money's worth.

I have been here 2x. My daughter goes to college in the area. Both times have been great! Very good personable service. Food so delicious. I brought my picky kids, they loved it. So reasonably priced as well. All the pasta dishes are also priced for 1/2 portions which is great because it leaves you with room for soup or apps and hopefully dessert we tried the Nutella cookie cooked fresh in a cast iron pan with ice cream...so yummy. I really look forward to going back every time I visit. I highly recommend it.

A clone of Olive Garden? kind of. Appears like a Cheesecake Factory? almost. Is it a bar? also. And the food? Honestly...surprisingly flavorful! As a group we tried a variety of dishes starting with fried ravioli, a good contrast of flavor and textures, followed by rigatoni all toscana, fettucini with lobster, shrimp and crab cannelloni, and penne sardi. All delicious! Needless to say, being Iowa and all, salt and butter is thrown in there like cilantro is in Mexico. but who's complaining?

Went to Biaggi's last night. The service was outstanding! We had a couple of appetizers, the stuffed mushrooms and the brushetta. They were both good and the brushetta was presented beautifully. It was a little heavy on the balsamic, but still very good. The bread before the meal was delicious; it was a bread basket with super crusty baguette (the best) and also foccacia. For entrees, I ordered a 1/2 portion of the lobster fettucine and a Caesar salad. My pasta was good, the sauce was a little on the sweet side, but I loved the black fettucine noodles and it was a perfect size with a salad since their side/small salads are still really large. I have to say though that their Caesar was the worst Caesar dressing I've ever had. I just hated it. I know there are anchovies in Caesar dressing, but this was just way too fishy for me. That is really my only complaint though. The bf ordered a pasta dish, the Chicken Canneloni and really like it. We also had some wine, and they have some good price points for their wine list. For dessert we had the lemon cake and the creme brulee...both outstanding. I sort of wished I had just ordered all desserts because they were so good. Yea I've got a bit of a sweet tooth :) Overall, a real improvement from my last several Biaggi's visits. The desserts and the service definitely stood out this time. Glad I gave them another try.

Good food, good service. Started with very good bread. The caesar salad had too much dressing on it. Had the Grilled Chicken Pietro for the main course - very good sauce. The others enjoyed theirs as well including the filet mignon and fettuccini with lobster.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
